Systemic Circulating Leptin – Aiding New Dimension of Immune-Related Skin Carcinogenesis and Lipid Metabolism

AIM: The link between the development of melanoma skin cancer and obesity is gaining recently an increased attention. A plethora immune-related factors sustain a chronic inflammatory state modulated by metabolic imbalance, main examples being tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin 6, monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP1), several adipokines. Among adipokines leptin (LEP) steadily increasing interests as it involved in modulating different signaling pathways (e.g., JAK2/STAT3 MAPK cascade/FOS) immune cells fate promoting switch memory to T helper-1 cell response, increases CD4+CD25- T-cell proliferation, reduces autophagy during receptor stimulation. Our work investigates pilot study, using microarray technology, LEP circulatory levels patients comparison other cytokines chemokines already reported significantly initiation progression. METHODS: Serum from cases pool serum healthy volunteers were analyzed antibody array platform for 42-cytokine profile.
